03.01.99 - Aaahhhhh
I've really enjoyed this weekend. It started off well with the New Year's Eve celeberations and I guess it was nice knowing that I still had two days of the weekend left after New Year's Day itself. I've taken it pretty easy today and yesterday just pottering around in my room, going into town for a look round the shops and talking to people on the phone and chatting online. I haven't really spent that much time online so I also feel good about that, knowing that the phone bill won't be so horrendous (I hope!). I stayed in bed until midday today... isn't that awful? Hehehe.
I really need to start thinking about my career plan now and how I am going to get this IT job I so desperately want that will get me out of the hospital. The only problem is that now I have arranged to go out on Tuesday night and I will probably be going out either Wednesday or Thursday too so I can write off those evenings for doing anything job search related. The IT jobs appear in 'The Guardian' on Thursday anyway so I guess I can use that day to check over some of those things. Maybe I will make myself a list of things I have to do because I know myself all too well and I know that if I don't have some kind of structure planned then I will just slob around in a disorganised way and not get anything meaningful done.
I'm a little worried about the things I admitted to in yesterday's journal entry and I considered deleting select paragraphs from it but I haven't so far. If you haven't read it already then you had better do so because I could change my mind at any moment and delete it. Sometimes one can go a little too far in their honesty, don't you think?
My Grandma went back to Scarborough today. My parents drove her to the bus station about 45 minutes away and she caught her coach back up north. As I was left alone in the house (which is an extremely rare occurence when one parent works days and the other works nights) I decided to play my music at top volume and sing along to it as I was vacuuming the house. Are you getting a strange mental picture here? Hehe. Anyway when I had stopped vacuuming I decided I would sit back and eat some crisps while watching MTV. As I was flicking around the channels on the SKY digital system I came across some music channels that were quite interesting. They don't have visual images like MTV, they're more like radio stations played through the TV set and the quality of sound being digital was fantastic, especially with the surround sound system. I listened to the dance music channel for a while which reminded me of when I was high on New Year's Eve then turned over to the classical music channel. I can honestly say that classical music was created to be listened to on a system like this failing the ability to have the orchestra there in front of you for real. It was amazing and I spent the longest time listening to Mozart, Strauss, Beethoven, Debussy etc. I think I am really developing a liking for classical music.
Ok so this is a strong contender for the most boring journal entry ever! I've just had a really nice, relaxing weekend (apart from New Year's Eve of course) which means I don't have many interesting things to tell you. If I could sum up today and yesterday in one word it would be "Aaahhhhh". :-)
